Title: Fun Run Jan 25 - GT4
Post by: Wally on January 19, 2022, 09:59:24 AM
For the next fun run, let's try this GT4 pack, at Red Bull Ring.

Car download (https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ZPAjSYHuCBPrk6cwi_sb_waemoKtS4DC/view?usp=sharing) (1 GB)

This is the forum post: https://guerilla-mods.de/forum/topic/gt4-pack-beta-v072/ (https://guerilla-mods.de/forum/topic/gt4-pack-beta-v072/)
Custom Shader Patch v1.7.3 or above is recommended.

I have chosen only the cars from the pack that have LODs. The way they've packaged the cars is a little cumbersome, so for convenience I've uploaded just the cars we'll be using in one pack.

Cars
gt4_alpine_a110
gt4_audi_r8
gt4_bmw_m4
gt4_ginetta_g55
gt4_mclaren_570s
gt4_panoz_avezzano
gt4_porsche_cayman_718
gt4_saleen_s1
gt4_toyota_supra

Hey Wally,
I cant get the BMW to load, it crashes the game.  Tried all other cars offline and they load fine.
Couldn't get into the server as it hung when loading the BMW.

Hey Glen, I had the same problem. I was running Custom Shader Patch v1.6.0.

Updated CSP to Version 1.7.3 and it worked straight away.

Actually I did that and got more errors.  I then reverted it and now have weird graphics so need to have a play with it.......

If the Beemer continues to be problematic, I can remove it. There are plenty of other cars.

Can add one of these for Bacchulum  ;D
Have a look at its pedal box, bit mind-boggling.

So I uninstalled and reinstalled and now it's working!

You certainly won't hit the clutch instead of the brake accidentally (if you do you've missed the brake by a LOT!)
Gotta love the Jerry Can fuel tank  ;D 8)

We haven't got lap times from a lot of drivers on the practice server, but the cars don't seem to be BOP'ed very well.

These cars are fast:
gt4_toyota_supra
gt4_alpine_a110
gt4_mclaren_570s

These are a slower group (by roughly 1 sec):
gt4_bmw_m4
gt4_panoz_avezzano
gt4_saleen_s1

These are slower again (by roughly another 0.75 sec):
gt4_porsche_cayman_718
gt4_audi_r8

This one's way off the pace:
gt4_ginetta_g55

Pending poll results, we could either try to BOP them, eliminate some cars, or use that to set up a kind of handicap system (car dealer purchase type thing).

So Bueller will get the Ginetta?

To be fair the Ginetta is slow in ACC as well.

You mean AGK? He's untouchable in GT cars

Alpine & Ginetta were quick through the turns and braking zones but got smashed on the straight by the Supra, so there will be some track dependencies, Porsche & Saleen were up there in the right hands

The Saleen had a large gap between 4th & 5th gear, making downshifts difficult with rear lockups.
This could be overcome/minimized with setup/driving style adjustments.
Simply put, I could go quicker given time (but I still prefer the Macca  8) )

I can't get these cars to load... every single car crashed before I even got to the track.... :-[
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling but nothing changes....

Hmm, you probably need Content Manager with Custom Shader Patch v1.7.3 or above. You don't use Content Manager, do you. You can download it here https://acstuff.ru/app/latest.zip
You just unzip it into your AC folder and run it.

Ok Wally, I’ve never used content manager, no idea what it is/does as AC is so easy to just paste things into and they usually work….as for the custom shader patch I’ve got no idea what that is either, looks like I’ve got a bit to do before dinner, so I may or may not be racing tonight

Content Manager is very easy to use, and very quick. To join a server, go to Drive > Online and type xgn in the search box. Click the server, choose a car and click Join. From then on, you can just join recent servers. Custom Shader Patch comes with Content Manager.

Yes you can, in much the same way as still being free to use a Horse and Cart.  :o

thanks Wally for all your help sorting out my CM problems last night, these cars could be fun as them seemed to be very easy to drive close to each other which was not what I was expecting from a GT car
