Title: S8R6: Spa pre-race chat
Post by: Wally on September 08, 2015, 11:14:52 PM
This is a single race "enduro round", triple points, 21 laps. Fuel and tyre multiplier will probably be 2.4x, to make both cars need 1 stop (I'll have to test it).

Weather forecast: http://www.myweather2.com/Motor-Racing/Belgium/Spa-Francorchamps-Circuit.aspx (http://www.myweather2.com/Motor-Racing/Belgium/Spa-Francorchamps-Circuit.aspx) (13:00)
Probably cold; possibly wet.

It's also the last round of the season, with Guybrush sitting just 7 points ahead of Matthew.

Entry List (and ballast)

Spa's notorious for being half dry half wet Wally.
How are you gonna pull that one off? :o :P ;D

Hmmm... change the track surfaces to make half of them low grip?

I should be home for this round Wally so my ballst free car shoukd be fairly quick I hope.  ;D

I will be off to Italy a few weeks later though and be away for a fair bit of the rest of the year most likely but keen to have a run if there is a spot. I think we will be getting to Melbourne Tuesday and with some luck not too late.

I've got the practice server up with the current Spa forecast for Tuesday. 11° and damp. The server also has tyre wear at 1.2x (fuel 2.4x), which is how it will be if the conditions are as cold as this.

If anybody wants to set their ballast on the server, you can do:

/admin <XGN password>
/ballast 0 <kg> (or use /client_list to find out which car you are)

hmmm, maybe 85% is too much grip for damp?  Maybe 75%?
Depends how wet I guess.

I actually liked the challenge when it was 65% at Hamburgerring during practice :)

Looks like the weather will be mostly sunny?

To me it looks partially sunny but after quite some rain during the night. So I'd say there should be more light and a bit of a warmer surface, but the rest should be pretty much the same... maybe 87% but drying?  :)

OK, Thanks Phil.

Track temp is 13 degrees, damp track. Tyre wear is 1.2x, due to the extreme cold, and fuel is still 2.4x.
