Post by: Wally on April 20, 2021, 10:54:45 PM
We had 3 different winners, with Bueller setting the fastest lap time in each race. With three podiums, the overall round win goes to Bueller, moving him up into 2nd place in the standings.

Bacchulum   32
Dietmar Raath   32
Freezer   32

Mael   14

Penalties
Race 1
I’m going to have to call this one Mael’s fault, as he ran into the back of Bacchulum under brakes, albeit fairly slowly, but pushed Bacchulum wide and then tapped him again, turning him into the path of Freezer and causing a big crash, so Mael gets 80 kg penalty ballast.

Season Standings
1. bradc, 112
2. buellersdayoff, 102
3. killagorilla, 90

That was a heap of fun. I don't think my wheel has ever turned so much in a night of racing. Race 3 started OK from reverse pole, but at the start of lap 2, I ran wide onto the grass coming down the hill, and slid back across the track. Brad missed me, but the next car tapped me, sending me pirouetting to the back of the field. I managed to get back to 5th, with some good racing with killagorilla along the way.

Sorry I missed last night. What a fun track, I had even practiced for it, so I was pretty confident of a a clean sweep.  ::)

But I had a visitor just before 7:30 so didn't even get a chance.

I'm still alive if anyone was wondering  ;D Just finding it hard to get the time to race at the moment with kids etc. I may just sit the season out, or I may hop on for the odd race if I get a chance!

Stupid yank tanks, just can't fathom the extend to the bonnet. Same thing happened the week before with Seanus where instead of just following closely managed to bump him off the road  :-[
Wally should post a replay of the accident. Was one of the more spectacular crashed in AC I've seen with poor Bacchulum barrel rolling down the road!

...Brad missed me, but the next car tapped me, sending me pirouetting to the back of the field...

Yeah, that was me...no way avoiding running into you there. Caused quite a bit of damage...steering was off for the rest of the race...
This track was great fun in these cars.
Funny thing in R2 when Bueller turned me around. He redressed, it seemed Dietmar was polite waiting and not taking advantage out of this situation...then Freezer came along...blasting past all of us into the lead...haha.
Apologies for the nudge in R3, Mael.

That was a team effort, you spun him and I finished him off...!! :)

That was a bloody tough night!

I found this track extremely difficult and I think that was because I found it really hard to work out breaking makers seeing all there was on the side of the track sand and/or trees and they all looked very similar.  Race 1 was good as I managed to get past Wally towards the end and steel his 4th giving me the reverse pole for race 2, but weirdly when the lights went out I was given a drive through for a jump start....I’m not sure how or what this happened but I can only assume the car moved when I pulled 1st, never the less it was a great race because with no traffic I was able to really focus on finding braking makers which helped me for race 3.

The start of race 3 was epic, there was cars spinning off everywhere and in these old clunkers it’s so hard to zig, once you’ve already committed to doing a zag. Eventually I caught up to Bueller and we had a great battle. For a couple of laps I could get close, but not close enough and then when I thought I’d finally found a way up the main straight there was no where for me to pass and then survive turn 1 so I had to press on and hope for another chance. Eventually he slid a little wide at the final turn and I could pass for the lead with 2 laps to go. To his credit the racing was very clean and I’m sorry for what looked like weaving in Ecco valley on the last lap but I was in the middle of the mother of all tank slappers and needed the full width of the circuit to hold on and make the next corner.

All good, was some good fun close racing there. Did anyone check out the cars from the dropbox link in discord, the V8 engine sound from the mustard (mustang) is pretty cool, I like it mostly for rumbling idle lol.
