Still not decided on which car yet. Abarth is slow but more user friendly  ;) but now I'm getting used to the Porsche it's way quicker and getting easier to drive. Longer race I would def take the Abarth and hope for mistakes from others but...... ::)

The porsche is very rewarding once you adopt, "it's on bias ply "polyslider" type tyres" and it is fast in that mode... very nice handling.

The poor little Abarth is gonna get creamed if people can keep the other two on track. I'm nearly 3s quicker on default set.

Here are my setups for the cars on Thursday Night.
I do not know how long the tyres will last !
I have chosen the Porsche even though my heart said GT40.
The BMW will need ballast probably start with 100kg for each car.
I am using Logi G25 and I find I need to add lots of slip angle to my wheel profile and also tick
the "enhanced understeer effect"

I would never dream that my setups should be imposed on everyone ;D
They are just a starting point so that everybody can at least get every car around the track
to make their choice easier.

Thanks. Spent a little bit of time yesterday and the only car I could get round in was the porsche. It will be interesting to try again with your setups. Good one

Ok, server is back but telling me it's "running a different protocol". Does that mean it hasn't been updated with new build or do I have a problem?

yay its just not me :)    the server dudes are having a look, the servers inbuilt steam updater doesn't seem to be working.  if its not that I have no idea :)

Strange that the changelog says version 1.6.0 but my game says 1.6.1...... ::)

Correct. AC forums state you need to manually update for now as the Steam thingy hasn't been updated to 1.6 yet. Looks like it has caught out a lot of admins.

not sure on your server provider/access.
did they provide you with an FTP login access?

else
can you log into the box? do you see a window's screen?
you should then be able to access a drop box or a google drive?
if not you could get a ticket raised for them to do it,

This is a fun season, a postponement for a week will not hurt anyone and with the advantage of running the new cars for a fill in sounds like a reasonable substitute.

Lets mitigate roo missing a night!

Not sure of the times are being done with the other cars but you may need way more ballast than 100kg for the Beemer. Just put up a server and was still able to do 2:11's on the medium tyre with 100kg.

I have done 2.15s in the Porsche , we may have to add ballast to the Porsche  also !

I will be there Slideways if  Phil's server is not up and my NBN is fixed in time . Some idiot set fire to a NBN cable access pit in Taree.
I still blame iinet/TPG  for the problem though. ;D

As it stands atm is .
 I can update all through ftp apart from the acServer.exe as i don't see that and I presume its linked to the pretty server start/restart button. I will just wait until they update on steam, just letting you all know.

Well there you go! Stupid error yet again Grrrrhh.

Those who joined last night may remember we had trouble getting Phil's server to work and Slideways' server while kindly offered ended up with problems. Well, I had a test server on my home network as well that I had been playing with. However, last night it could connect to the AC Lobby due to port blocking issues. Very frustrating.

Turns out I had changed the IP address of the PC I was using and forgot to change the forwarding address in the router  :-[ :-[ :-[

My server probs may have been caused by me. I joined my own server as I normally would join any server. Maybe if I had joined as LAN it may have been ok. Anyone know whether this could cause problems?

It might have been a little better, with one less external connection.

Ok, so after some testing @ maximum ballast allowed(300kg) I can still get 2-12's out of the Beemer. Is this too quick still? Maybe 150kg and start from pitlane? Would love to drive it but not if it's too fast... ;)

Do not forget you have to pit for fuel other cars do not, I think if you start from back of grid with 300kgs on board it should make a good race
some of the other cars are not that far behind in times.

The Lola T70 Spyder would be a perfect match for the BMW , download location in Historic Car Barn Finds.

Kinda like the challenge of starting at the back (let's face it I'm used to it anyway) and seeing how far I can get... ;) ;D
