I cannot get the Ford Sierra DTM to appear in game, it appears under unknown car, and it won't appear in server manager , even after manually adding them.

Any ideas ?

Did you install the base car? You need that. DTM is just an overlay.

We usually work out duration based on car's lap times and use that to set number of laps.

The duration is determined by Flattop's stamina!!!!!?.???.??? ;)

Post by: Bruce on February 19, 2016, 03:35:55 PM
haha, my stamina is getting less... but that's cool.
I have taken the liberty to invite anyone interested from Australian Virtual Motor Racing to come along for this and the season.
It would be nice... (an old XGN racer spotted it and is interested, lets hope more are interested).

Sorry guys, can't make it this week.
But if someone could just park a Sierra on it's roof somewhere near the pit exit it'll be just like I was there!

These cars are FUN FUN FUN, the best,  with feel and predictability comparable to PnG 3 ( the best historic sim yet).
Close racing without drama should be achievable by all participants.

Thanks Phil, I too had recurring checksum errors and didn't get to posting my probs.

Great to see you back Denis, glad you like these cars, a little faster, but stupidly so, handle well and every believes should give us a mixed field for some great racing.

Some setups to evaluate. All are for Bridgehampton 8 lap race on soft tyres.

Here's mine too. Managed to get it somewhat more compliant and even able to save the oversteer at the cost of a bit of mid corner understeer.

I found I could get the same lap time out of the Sierra and the Merc, but the Merc was a hell of a lot easier and more consistent. I was roughly 2 seconds slower in the BMW M3.

well sorry everyone, I was so stuffed I could hardly remember any of the attempted laps let alone put something together that was any good,
I was so slow mentally, the road was like the opening scene of Dr Who....

Good to see the close times for the first 3, being 2 different cars.... (Hey Denis, your back with a vengeance!)

Hmmm. The results look a bit weird this week. I didn't win R1. I think I stole 2nd just before the finish. Other races show DNFs. Maybe being a fun run we didn't wait for results long enough?

The graphs of the results show the correct results

I was sorry to see you go Bruce after seeing you post a 1m40s practice lap which was within a fraction of my times. I was riding shotgun
with you for a short time and was wondering what was wrong. I will just have to wait till next week to do battle once again.

I have fallen in love with the Merc ,Bruce, so close to feel of a PnG3 car, and set up with my preferred point and shoot handling.
I also noted the distinct lack of racing incidents during the evening races not just coincidence I believe.

This was exactly the same as my findings, but under AI the Sierra could do times in the 1m37s which was what I expected  to see
on race night given the skill level of some of the drivers (bit more practice and a better setup would probably help)
