His basic argument is it makes it too hard.

The most unrealistic thing in sim-racing is constant grip (nothing more-so than 100% which doesn't exist IRL
).
So if it doesn't include dynamic track, then it is overrated.
But if something alters the grip lap by lap (rubber, temperature, rain, etc.), then that is
essential for a 'simulator', not so much for a 'game'.
