I reckon it's worth $10 to check it out, but it's nowhere near a top-tier title as they like to think (and price it), going by the reviews & opinions.

I always wondered how you could create meaningful and purpose-driven gameplay in a complex creation with billions of different planets.

The Star Citizen 3 videos from gamescom look very good though.
