Note this is the standard Exos, not the S1.

I love the exos.  If and when we get some sort of handicapping it would be great to do a season in these.

Don't forget the Exos has DRS. You need to bind a key to activate it in your config. Then pressing the key activates the DRS, and braking deactivates it. There are no restrictions on where or when you can use it.

4x fuel is pretty tight here Wally, I only get 4.2 laps.
Maybe we need 3x in these cars? :-\

[edit]
Actually, it's probably closer to 2x for a 1 stopper.
(unless your plan is for multiple stops? :o)

No, I need to check that. 4x worked for the 98, I expect it to be different for the Exos. The plan is for 1 stop.

phwaaaaar! Did a few laps today and what a car!  ;D

Though I didn't know it had DRS... will have to check this out!

Raced with some AI and really looking forward to Tuesday!  :D

I have made some adjusments to allow for the Exos's relatively small fuel tank.

Race 1: 9 laps, 1 x fuel, 1 x tyre wear
Race 2: 15 laps, 2 x fuel, 4 x tyre wear

At 4x tyre wear, the tyres are just starting to get a little slippery at the end of a stint, and will need a little care.

The practice server is up with these settings.

I had a quick go earlier at starting a setup.  I have the setup in my dropbox... it can be a bit skittish though.  Still some work to do.

C-Mo-Nay, you can do that in the Controller setup section. It is a standard key bind setting in AC.

Here's my early set:

Feels nice, but scrapes in a lot of places, and badly at Eau Rouge. Isn't it too low for you?
Title: Re: S5R6: Lotus Exos 125 at Spa
Post by: Bacchulum on February 22, 2015, 12:59:36 PM
It scrapes in Eau Rouge and occasionally under brakes but not excessively.
(if it doesn't scrape at Eau Rouge you're WAY too high)
There is aero grip to be had running low in these.
It may need lifting for a full tank though. ;)

It will be interesting to compare our setups Bacchulum.

I've just settled on mine - made some changes just now and the setup in the DB has been updated.  Good for a 2.00.4 and a WR, although I made a meal of the last chicane.

I usually d/l your setup, Guy, for comparison.
Usually forget to look at it though. :o

Might do it now, the cyclone's over.

I'm surprised you don't have a 'subterranean' ride height in these Guy, it works the diffuser very well. ;)

Running with DRS open makes my setup very unstable, so any major bumps cause a spin.  If there was no DRS I would run it a lot lower, but at the moment I use DRS through Eau Rouge, the second part of Puhon, and through the last right hander coming onto the blanchimont straight.

If you go to 1:45 in this vid you can see how the F1 cars bottom out through eau rouge:

Post by: Bacchulum on February 22, 2015, 05:58:55 PM
I use DRS in all those places too (and a few others), with a 4 rear wing. ;)
I was surprised how touchy your set is with the wing. ???

That's with a 44mmF : 60mmR ride height
(you need some rake to not stall the diffuser)
Title: Re: S5R6: Lotus Exos 125 at Spa
Post by: Guybrush Threepwood on February 22, 2015, 06:09:39 PM
I'll have to give that a try.  Normally I don't raise the rear too high as it shifts the centre of gravity forward making the rear a bit too light.

The rear wing could be reduced but rear wing is only relative to front wing.  You could have a rear wing of 10 and it would still be loose if the front wing was 0.
Title: Re: S5R6: Lotus Exos 125 at Spa
Post by: Bacchulum on February 22, 2015, 06:12:37 PM
I think I run a 9 or 11 front wing but it's still understeery.
I'm just using DRS mid corner to balance it out.

Would you guys mind running ptracker so we can see your splits on stracker for the practise server? Not a problem if you don't like ptracker but would be nice.

BTW there are 170 laptimes set last time I looked!!

Not sure if it was coincidence but when I ran ptracker my system started to chug so I got rid of it.  You can see my splits on RSR though.

Here is a hotlap which is 2:00:2.  I put the pedal app on so you can see what I'm doing downstairs.  I didn't quite take T1 as I normally would have (was actually checking something else as I entered it).

Youtube turns all my videos into blurry pieces of crap though, so apologies.

I've run a few test laps, and I find the car worse than the last round.
What sort of car is this? Where does it run?  It feels really touchy.

With Guy's set all I could do was spin everywhere,  Bacchulum's was much nicer - after raising the power diff to around 70 and moving the brakes to 53.   Still, I can't comprehend the speed you guys are getting, I was over 2:10 and really disinclined to practice; these cars are not fun for me.

For me, these cars are some of the most fun.  You just have to get to know the limits... they need a bit of finesse.

Love flying around corners at warp speed though.  The down-force is great. :)

Decided to actually spend some time comparing setups between mine (lame), Guy's and Bacchulum's (NotePad++ is awesome for it)

Very interesting between the 2... I am looking forward to giving them both a run tonight...

Sadly (not really) I have cracked a nice bottle of wine so I'm not expecting PB's but time in seat will help  ;D

Bird, are you using the DRS?

I used guys nurb setup he had in the dropbox and without drs because i didnt realise the car had it i did a 2.1.8 and it felt good lol all i did was drop the toe front and back by half, drop wing front and back by 3 clicks and put brake bias too 58 i think and it was good! i have to try this new set of yours guy im turning into your biggest fan haha

Wow can't get much different setups...

Guybrush -  I was just loose as... twitched too much on a corner and I was gone... spinning away... though it did feel fast when I could keep it on the track... just my driving ability couldn't consistently do it...  :-\

Bacchulum - Seemed to suit me more... It was more forgiving... I did improve my PB, so pretty stoked  ;D

In my continuing adjustments one that I made was raise the diff to 70, and this was before your post Bird.
It does feel better, hey. ;D ;D

Thanks Wally, not sure what the problem is at this stage. But if I was to guess I would say power supply.

I'll have to troubleshoot it to be certain. The pc was made from 2nd hand parts about 5 years ago so I've had a pretty good run.

I love the exos.  If and when we get some sort of handicapping it would be great to do a season in these.

A good handicap for you would be a gearbox with only the odd gears, I think id have a chance that way.
