Assetto Corsa / You know you've been playing AC for too long when...« on: September 02, 2015, 05:23:53 PM »
You see that it's 11 degrees outside and your first thought is how you're going to get some heat in your tyres.

Nice video, and great commentary. Fun to watch for anyone who's raced on the virtual track. Man, those guys are constantly working the wheel.

Australian Assetto Corsa League, Tuesday nights / Re: S8R4: Nurburgring GP post-race chat« on: September 02, 2015, 12:21:48 AM »Half a lap of side-by-side racing with Guybrush (me in the yellow), after he recovered from an off. Chasing Grat over the line at the end of race 1. Grat beating me by 0.117 at the end of race 2. An excellent night of racing for me. Race 1 featured a good chase of Rolz, finally squeezing past him at the NGK chicane, and half a lap of close battling with Guybrush as he made his way back through the field. Race 2 was a bit messier, with an accidental knock from Freezer on lap 2 sending me close to the rear, and then me running into the back of Grubbet at turn 1 on lap 6 and redressing costing me more time. But in the latter stages of the race, I had a great dice with Chap and Grat, with a few passes here and there, unable to capitalise on Grat's worse tyres on the final lap. Almost! My car felt pretty good in the slippery conditions. I had set the front camber to max negative to try to generate some heat in the front tyres, and also put on front splitter of 1. It didn't feel too bad. 7701

8 laps and 17 laps. Race 2 fuel and tyres at 4.2x (unless it's freezing cold again, in which case I'll reduce the tyre rate).

It becomes an exercise in concentration. But last time I checked the forecast, it looked like it was expected to clear a bit.

Yeah, it was like that racing in the rain in netKar. You had white knuckles the whole race, and you did not blink. It was awesome

I've set the practice server to the Nurburgring weather to be a wet track, and very cold. I've also reduced the tyre wear rate to 2.1x.

Assetto Corsa / Re: AC server browser android app« on: August 31, 2015, 11:21:41 PM »
I've set up a beta test program for version 1.1, which adds notifications on players joining your favourite servers. If you already have the app and want to beta test this new version, PM me the gmail email address that you purchased it with, and I will invite you to the beta program. The new version should then appear as an update in the play store. I've never done this before, so that's the theory at least.
I'd like to test this on a few different devices before it goes out into the wild. 7710

Looking forward to some ice skating tomorrowYeah I just had a run on the praccy server, it's extremely slippery!! Maybe I'll set the tyre wear to half the rate in the longer race - i.e. 2.1x. |
