If someone were to disconnect, maybe due to internet dropout or GPU error, could they still come back and participate for the rest of the race?

Also what would happen to track position?

I did disco last race and reconnected, but I just spectated from the pits and didn't rejoin the track. You certainly can rejoin and start racing again. I'm not sure what happens to your lap count or track position though. I imagine you would go a lap down (or more).

That other Nords Enduro we did a while back my PC crashed and I rejoined losing a lap in the process.

Seeing Qualy is sorted I will rs the practice server with tyre blankets off if anyone wants to give that a run before the race and will drop the grip down a bit 98-100 which should be more what the race will be like. I dont know what sort of temps Wally will be running so will just keep it at 20c and clear.

huge difference with no tire warmers... but that was me... thankfully I tested *cough* a few "offs" and car certainly was still drive-able at 50% damage...

Thankfully you also helped me test car damage, pit stop and repair time. Also that a one stopper over 4 laps can work if the guy ahead is trying to get immersed in the scenery when that is the last thing left for them to hit.
