Title: Caterham Academy has been released.
Post by: rob on July 20, 2015, 03:00:04 PM
Just a heads up guys that the Caterham 7 Mod has been released.

I know what you are going to say "not another underpowered little road car" and you are probably right. But it is great fun to drive and as far as I can tell with pretty accurate physics. 125bhp and 575Kg make for a nice little package, and don't believe what some people are saying about too much grip, they really do feel like that.

Anyhoo, it won't please everyone, but who cares, it pleases me. lol.

@ Joe
I could never afford a real Caterham Joe, but when I gave up work to care for my wife I had the opportunity to buy a secondhand Westfield. It is the exact dimensions of the original Lotus Super Seven so as close as I'll ever get to owning my all time dream car. It was ten years old when I bought her with a 20 year old clapped out motor, it is now 20 years old with a 30 year old clapped out motor.

Its only had 2 owners and the guy I bought it off set it up and used it exclusively as a track day car, I guess that's why it handles so well.

@ Wally
Totally agree mate.

@Gratulin
Thanks Andrew, I will be giving it a run there later tonight.

Cheers guys

Nice I will give it a go, I actually ran the caterhams in pcars this afternoon after the latest patch. Was surprised they weren't total shit and felt ok.  ;D

Fun little car, the washboard low poly bumps on that track in corners kind of turn me off but I will put these up on a server with an official track, got one at Imola atm to give it a run on a proper track.  ;)

It's much slower than the Cobra, but loads of fun and tonnes of grip. It's probably more MX-5 speed, talking of which need to practice tonight for Thursdays race  :)

Its a great little car and should make for some close fun racing. Slower than the Cobra but faster than the MX5. With only front camber changes, setup should be a breeze too.
