S12R1: Mugello Pre-Race Chat

2 x 16 laps, with a compulsory pit stop in each race. You will need fuel (4.6x fuel multiplier); you can do what you like with tyres.

Weather Forecast (looking like 24 degrees and light clouds).

Here's how you can test the fuel multiplier offline: Edit your Documents\Assetto Corsa\cfg\assists.ini file and set FUEL_RATE=4.6, and then just run a hotlap session.
Set it back to 1 when you're finished.

I will put the server up later tonight and also make sure there is a hole big enough in everyones fuel tanks so people can test this.  ;)

Prac server is up with 4.6x fuel burn, if anyone wants to run a longer race test they can adjust server race distance by the command /st session rlap x
with x being number of laps, I should have most xgn guys in as stracker admins
you can also adjust qualy length with
/st session rlaps x

to use the new session lengths just skip to next session and it should have it adjusted.

Hi Marty: I just did a race in the server. It looks like fuel burn is pretty much normal (maybe 2x, but did not feel like 4x). Instead, my tyres were almost gone by lap 5...

Ok I will take a look its quite likely an error by the stupid admin. I thought I changed the fuel to 460 but quite likely it could be tyres instead.  :-\

Well looking at your lap data I changed tyres instead of fuel lol will fix in a minute and jump on for aome laps too.

Times to beat are Marty's 1:48.1 in the Lotus, and Matthew's 1:48.6 in the Ferrari.

Cherno's 1:46 doesn't count, because that's ridiculous :)

Hopefully Cherno joins in the season and I may have a new team mate as weve always had some fun races amd he is a quick bugger.  ;D

I just ran a few laps in both cars at optimum RSR conditions to see how they actually compare, not perfect laps by any stretch.

1:46.853 in the Ferrari with split times
26.474 32.445 47.934
1:47.264 in the lotus with splits of
26.345 32.909 48.010

The Ferrari time was nearly identical to what I did in the server so must have been a pretty good lap there, the lotus I haven't had a clear lap without traffic on low fuel and good grip in the server so haven't been able to get in a quicker lap there yet but should be likely to come close to that time. My lotus lap I think was a bit better then the one in the Ferrari so likely the gap between the 2 is a couple tenths more here.
This kind of shows where the Ferrari's real strength seems to be in faster corners which is what makes the middle sector of this track. On any slower tracks I have ran in both it seems the Lotus is always quite a bit quicker in the slower corners but this track really doesn't have any of those and its in Italy so the Ferrari should be quicker.

Fuel wise will make the Ferrari carry about 20l more for half race and so also needs to add more at the stop or carry more which will slow it down a bit each lap. I think it should be fairly close in these cars here and both are fairly competitive with the season shorter tighter tracks likely favouring the Lotus and bigger faster ones for the Ferrari slightly.

Lets hope nobody needs their car to be craned off the circuit like this one at Monaco the other week.

Also lets hope hope nobody has a smoke mod running that can cause something like this other terrible crash that happened recently. Nobody was killed here but I think the driver that went flying did get injured in the incident.

Fast open wheel formula cars I really would not want to race for real just like motorbikes I dont think the risks are worth it, lucky we have some cool sims to race much cheaper with no risk of injuries.

That's part of the thrill of open wheelers, knowing the risk that it could go horribly wrong. Brave or crazy men.

Also, I can see that I'm a fair way off the pace!
