A lap takes approx. 2min 30sec. The Sierra has only enough fuel capacity for about 9 laps and I do not think
that Pittstop is working for this track. The only other option is to turn off Fuel consumption.
I would like a 40min race to start the season and see what the other drivers think after this race.
This is a very unforgiving track ,one little mistake in the wrong place and your race is over.

good point, nice someone does some homework, thanks Denis.   Phil, being fun runs, can we have damage set low? that would fix that problem. (I like low damage :) )
the fuel, can we make it so they will all make it on a tank? or at least fair consumption for all?

As Rooshooter said "unforgiving" I think of a dozen or so laps only managed to finish 1 and it was a 2.36 in the benz. A little more practice required me thinks

I should also say it's easy to miss a braking marker and it'll be a 4 min lap by the time you find your way back to the track

yep damage is off :) and 17 laps it is :D
I have set fuel rate to 50% or we can have 100% and a pitstop ?

now all i need is the setups or will I go with default ?

as not to be biased, if someone felt like testing the setups posted here and letting me know the 4 would be cool.

I'm more than happy not to pit.
I think the default benz with the tallest gears feels good here. No need to change anything.

We might need a non-standard setup for the Sierra at least, the default one is rubbish.

Found a little issue with this track. Don't spin at the left hander under the bridge. You just drive straight through into "floaty never never land" ;D

I'll be away for work Thursday night, which is a shame as I would have liked to try the longer race.

Question guys, re fixed setups. Can brake bias still be adjusted? Been doing a few laps in the Beemer and the Sierra and the latter definitely needs some tweaks from default. Get that right and it's pretty quick.
Title: Re: Round 1: March 3rd Longford
Post by: Phil.8 on March 01, 2016, 03:21:14 PM
once I get the setups I will adjust them to make gears, fuel and brakes adjustable only

Sierracos setup  good, just change final gear ratio to 2.75 and Fuel to 70ltr.
Merc1902 setup good, just change fuel to 75ltr.
Bmwe30 setup good, just change to Gearset to 5 and finalratio to 11/43 and 65ltr of fuel.
These setups should suit most people, just be very gentle on the brakes ,maybe adjust your brake "gamma"

The BMW235i race is too slow around this track about 15sec slower than the other cars.

so is this the default setups ? and with 100% fuel use ? and will the tyre rate be ok at 100% do you think

Server is up, I have left gears, fuel and brakes adjustable just so I dont have to change and upload new fixed setup for different tracks :)

Yes default setups, fuel use at 50% please (I ran out of fuel in the Sierra on lap 11 in race mode)
and Tyre rate at 100% should be OK.
Thanks Phil.

enjoy Melbourne GP.

ohh, one of those holes, nice find :)  Now everyone can avoid it, lets hope.

Actually depends where you hit, if you hit it late you end up going through and landing on top of the marshalls. Shouldn't be standing there I s'pose. :)

Question. With the track holes, once falling in space and time I can't stop the car to get back to the pits. Had to use task manager to shut AC and start again. I presume there is a better way of getting back to pits?
Title: Re: Round 1: March 3rd Longford
Post by: Bruce on March 02, 2016, 04:39:30 PM
no, sorry there isn't any way back from the abyss, other than exit.  You have a particular "style" on that corner, as we have run the track with the Cobras, and no one "found" that hole!
Not sure what to do here, any "one person" falling in it would be disappointment... can you look at our "Style" :)
Title: Re: Round 1: March 3rd Longford

I only found it because I was pushing too hard on cold tyres and brakes. ;D
Title: Re: Round 1: March 3rd Longford
Post by: rooshooter on March 02, 2016, 05:03:58 PM
Sometimes if you just wait without hitting any keys you will end up back at the pits.
This is just one of the dangers with this track, the tyre markers are filled with concrete
and you can end up on top of a haybale all wheels off the ground and nowhere to go,
just take it easy, you cannot win if you do not finish and the winner is not determined by who gets through
the first corner in the lead!!!

No that pass was fine I'd given you the room to do it. I just wasn't ready for how much brake the sierra needed at that kink

It's a fun track, but those tyres are killers in various places.  They caused a few multi-car accidents. I would prefer not to have them there, even if people can cut more. At least the racing would stay closer.

I was quite fortunate as all mistakes I made were clean. I hit the wall at the bottom of the
Hill side on a couple of times, and went wide into the town but crept through the obstacles back
onto the track.  Anyone who has ever played some more arcade style games like Flatout and need
for speed knows that Tyres, signs, etc are all able to be knocked out of the way, why in serious sims
these things are completely immovable I have no idea.

Aside from that I had a good night, with 2nd being my best finish in any Sim racing for a long time.
Looking forward to next week.

looking at the results, this should have produced a lot more close racing, but lets put it all down to experience.
We certainly didn’t have these problems when we ran it last time, my apologies, lack of “due diligence” on my part :(

Not the most auspicious introduction to us for slideways.  I noted you had some pretty good early laps in there slideways.
Hooked up on the gate post at Tannery Corner and then it was… “Back to the pits for you!”
Happy with the mix of cars, although my lap times were down, it was great to reel in the RS cars at the end of the straights and felt like there was a chance!

Well onto Interlargos, which will change the whole formula, testing our tyres a lot more.

I am assuming you have selected your car because you like it and are sticking to it, “for better or for worse” for the rest of the season?

As sheep stations aren't involved, I think I would like to leave the season as it is.

Yeah, I'm not one for car-hopping. I'll stick with the Ford. Must say the Sierra is an absolute pig at Interlagos. I'd be quicker in a shopping trolley.. ::)

I liked it too, I did a few laps to check fuel and tyres and put in PBs on the Longford track out of those tested. But I said Merc and Merc it is for me, I getting well used to it now. :)
