I doubt that I will be driving the 599 again so I think I can give an unbiased opinion.

Isn't the whole idea of mixed class racing that different cars will have different strengths and weaknesses. There will always be faster cars that don't handle. If we keep weeding out the cars that hold up the faster drivers it will end up a one car spec race, with the fast guys way in front and the slow guys being lapped.

Wally's handicap system is in its infancy but given time I am sure that all the drivers will end up in the car that they deserve. This will give us close racing with plenty of challenges. We need to be patient to let Wally's system even out all the cars and drivers. If that means leaving the 599 in for the slower drivers so be it.

I know it's impractical, but a good handicap system means that ALL drivers have a chance to win.

And lets not forget that this is supposed to be fun. Its not all a bout winning, but about having a good time with hard fair racing with a bunch of great blokes.

Just my 2c worth.

Aww guys, don't be mean. So far I have just been hot lapping, I have no idea how the setup will go over a longer race distance.

Consistency and concentration are not my strong suits lol.

Wonder what sort of times the guys in the 599's are getting? I dont think I will be in the same race as those guys as its hard enough to hang on to the gt2's and p4/5's.

It would be good to see some of our 599 lap times. Don't forget, at Imola some guys were over 6 seconds slower than Guybrush and Aiman.

Hey Guys, my times for the Ferrari 599

Qualy setup (softs and 10 litres of fuel)  1:44.810
Race setup (Mediums and full tank) 1:46.300

The Lambo has now been released, with placeholder v8 sounds :(.

OH NO!! Not the "wheels out". That drove me crazy, turned that off quick smart. Lol

No, I was thinking more of the notification of the black flag/drive through penalty. I use the (iRacing) JJ spotter sound files, I'm sure that there is a black flag warning file in there somewhere.

Wally, I'm a complete numpty when it comes to computers but here's a question for ya.

I run the Spotter App and was wondering if it was possible to add an audio to your App? So when the on screen message is displayed it could trigger an audio file telling me to do a drive through. Just wondering is all.

Good one Wally, been giving it a bit of a test offline. Works fine.

Wally, sure looks and SOUNDS the business. But I was a bit surprised that its was not a full motion rig. But I would swap my one 23" monitor for his 3 projectors in a heart beat. lol.

Yes please Wally.

Wally, I'll have a go just to make up the numbers.

What gives with their choice? They've been able practice our choice for a few days now. When are they going to let us know theirs?

Hi Wally, I've come down with something diabolical. It's 31 degrees here and I can't stay warm lol.

Give my spot to a reserve. Sorry for the short notice.

Initial Version 0.1a released.

http://www.assettocorsa.net/forum/index.php?threads/pm3dm-1999-nissan-primera-btcc-released-initial-version-0-1a.2372/

As can be gathered by the release version it's a pretty early release. Car interior/steering wheel is pretty rubbish. Externally it is gorgeous.

Having read a bit about the development of the "real" car, I imagine that the handling would be impeccable. The real car had the engine lowered and repositioned, and laser sensors at each corner of the car to accurately measure the ride height in real time. Development cost were astronomical.

Great fun

Here you go Wally,

I decided to do a different track – Watkins Glen

All cars default Setup (with Soft Tires) and I lengthened the Diff Ratio on cars that hit the Rev Limiter.

Track comments:
The grip level on this track is probably a little high. Timing for first Hot Lap is a bit screwed and there is only one replay camera.

Ferrari 458 GT2      1:07.751

BMW M3 GT2         1:07.619

Mercedes SLS AMG GT3   1:09.411

McLaren MP4-12C GT3   1:09.520

BMW Z4 GT3         1:09.042

P 4/5            1:09.434

Lotus GTC         1:10.324

Lotus GX         1:11.996

Can't seem to turn of the 5 sec penalty if you go off track. Is this working for others?

In the Main Menu (where you select car and track), click on Session (the little clock icon) untick Penalties

Just did a few laps with RC v1.

Only tried the Cobra, SLS GT3, and the Lotus 49, and only tried a few laps in each. Using only the default setups the cars seem to be handling much better, maybe too good. Will need to do more laps to push to the limit, then we'll see. Most cars should feel good at only half pace though.

The old NKPro guys will be glad to hear that the "flat spot" is back. Yay!!! We will have to look after those tires now.

In the 10 minutes I have just tried I think I was grinning like an idiot.

That's great news Rob! If you're smiling then things are all good.
Have you had any cpu warnings or performance issues?

No CPU warnings in the short time I played Dick, and my pc is a few years old now and has struggled a bit in the past. But I only tried single player, and I have learnt to avoid racing against AI as that will often put too big a load on the old girl.

I am a bit of a Luddite when it comes to computers so did not touch any Graphic settings and just left them on default. The graphics look OK to me but probably can be improved.

I believe that there has been some optimizing done, so fingers crossed.
