The championship really came down to the two race starts here. Whoever lead lap 1 was likely to win the race (barring any mistakes). Bacchulum got me in both races, with an especially hard fought lap 1 of the second race. If I would have won just one of the races, the points would have ended up:

Well done Bacchulum. Good close season. I can't just blame ballast for that last round as I also made mistakes but it certainly didn't help on track with such long straights. Thanks for another season Wally.

Thanks, very unexpected.
To be honest, I didn't think Joe was catch-able, I was just trying to beat Wally to 2nd in the standings.
I knew I had to beat him in both races, as he was picking up fastest lap points.
Bad luck Joe, a poor round at the wrong time  , and you can blame the ballast as you have to drive on the limit to counter it and it exacerbates any small mistake into a big one.

Season 9 champion, season 41 champion, look out in season 73 guys........
