I was doing some practice yesterday arvo when Mael joined the server for a bit, so I decided to ride shotgun to see if I could pick up some pointers for this circuit. I was amazed at how slow he appears to be going compared to myself, plenty of time to do everything, then the lap time popped up at 1m 34 sec not his fastest but still very quick !! Now to try and emulate  ;D

Better to watch Phil and Bacchulum, they the ones who tutor us how to drive properly :)

I suspect the Mclaren is also a bit easier and quicker than the Lotus around Bridgehampton.

What the deal with cars this season? Do we stick with one the whole season, or mid season change, or can we just change whenever we want? I haven't tried the Mclaren; just jumped straight into the Lola for R1.

once again sorry, not up to driving, I think the only short race I could do would be in the Robins!
off to check the stats and see you went.

I think I will be out for this complete season as I am at present, but my next goal after Baskerville, is the next season and spinning the wheels in the Corvette! :)

Sorry you can't make it tonight Bruce and looking forward to seeing your Corvette in my Pantera's rear view mirror  ;D

lol
The funny part is, it only has a rear view mirror because Seanus has added it. I have always had a soft spot for the Panterra probably helped by the fact I used to quite often see one when I lived in Canberrra, it was owned by Chris Clearihan who won the Australian Sports Car Championship in 1982 and 85. I was at the track when in won the championship in 1985 with Bap Romano second. The sound of Bap Romano's car powered by a Cosworth 3.0ltr DFV V8 spinning at 9400 rpm is a sound I will never forget. A long time mechanic friend of mine also used to do some mechanical work on the Pantera, he reckoned it was a heap oh shit  ;D

are we happy with a 8 lap race and a 20 lap race or prefer 2x 15 lap races ?

That was a shame. Got quite into the car in race 1 but race 2 felt wrong. Thought i didn't load setup initally but then after getting smoked down the straight realised my accelerator was only going to 70%... usually fixed by a quick replug so pulled over to do it but unplugged the wheel first by accident. Doing that looses all ffb and game needs a restart and was already a lap down so didnt seem worth it.

I really enjoyed the combo. Great fun.

Race 2 win was a little hollow as I started from the front row, and then just had to put in consistent, error free laps. I know Phil and Bacchulum still passed me, but then they pitted and I didn't really see anyone else except for Bueller about 6 secs back. I would have preferred a proper rolling reverse grid, to see a little more action.

yeah ,  I agree with rolling reverse grid, does make the second race more fun

Enjoyed this combo also, switching to Lola Ford feels a little more comfortable for me. It seems to be a bit more tame and controllable. First race I did with you guys on a roller-coaster track, had me spinning and in the grass all the time. Thanks guys

After doing a lot of practice during the week, but none on Thursday, I was just not as comfortable in the car as I had been, on race night  :'(
I qualified 7th and came in 9th in race one. Sorry for the collision in race 1 Bacchulum but we were 3 wide and I was being very cautious as I had no idea what the other cars were going to do. I had fun holding up Robin for the rest of the race though  :)
I think I stuffed up Mael's second race too , I guess you were not expecting me to be going so slow in that part of the track. Thanks for addressing though , I had to wait for traffic to pass. The highlight of the second race was coming up the startline straight with Joe on the inside , me overtaking Joe and Seanus overtaking me on the inside heading towards turn 1, I knew it would not end well.
Looking forward to Mosport.

That was telstra's fault. From my view you took a very narrow line through to corner staying leaving enough space for me to go around the outside. Just as I came alongside you, your car suddenly jumped onto my bonnet  :o

I've been having a lot of these mini-lags lately. The town where I live is suppose to receive NBN during October which should help a LOT, but am skeptical if it would reach my house.

Haha yeah you two buzzing past at such high speed was what made me look at my pedal app and see it maxing at 70% acceleration. One second you looked quite far back on the map and the next second you were right in my mirrors!

I love the lola. Spent most of the night just lapping around with a bit of a gap forward and behind so not much dicing. But it doesn't matter because its just so much fun having too much power. Lots of delicate throttle control  ;D
