a slower cobra to test, it might be ok for the faster people
If anyone has time to test it let me know what you think
-
Sorry, can't test, game keeps crashing (in hotlap and race weekend).
I guess that's a test though..... :-X
-
you mean to car crashes the game ?

:o :o :o
Did you have a previous mod with the same or similar name? Try deleting any potential conflicts first. Then do a fresh try with the mod. I just tested the .zip file and it even ran via the Kunos Launhcer. Having said that a fresh version is uploading now, to the same link, so hold your horses and I'll give a heads up when it's ready to download.
-
you mean to car crashes the game ?
Yeah.
Just as I was about to be put in the pits, the game would crash back to launcher.
And Gratulin, I deleted all Cobras when the official one was released. :-\
-
I have tested but used a different link. I think it is a great mod; looks ,sound and handling are spot on, about 3secs per lap slower than the Kunos car around Gentrac. I think it will provide a handicap car that will give a real challenge to the faster drivers, as they will have to drive to the limits to match the slower drivers in the 427 :) :) :) 8) 8).

That late in the loading sequence is nearly always the sound bank file. CM can fix that, but I hope it's a moot point as the latest revision is almost done.
Gratulin :o
-
New version's up. Same link as above.
Let's see if this trick works this time.

Yeah. Me too.

Sorry G0D, don't know how I got that wrong. :-[
(I refuse to blame XXXX! >:()
-
Sorry. :-\
But I still have the same issue (ie. crashing back to launcher)
Deleted the car before reinstalling. ???

Could you attach the log files please.

Nothing in those logs. :(
You use CM don't you? If so try changing the sound for the car. Best to choose a Kunos car.
CM also has a little debug icon show up near top to the right, click that (if there) and it will often show the cause of a crash.
-
Just tried at Gentrack1 and it crashed. Have you tried other tracks?
-
My version of gentrack1 still had my mods for reverse and mirrored, and they caused a conflict and crash. Uninstalled and fresh installed the track and all is fine.
Maybe the same for you?
-
New install of track, changed sounds and still crashes.
Can't see any debug icon.

d:\dev\dev_pc_master_race\acs\pythoninterface.cpp (340): PythonInterface::printErr
This line may mean an app is misbehaving.
Do other cars still work.
Can you disable all apps and test please?
Anybody else had a go at testing?

Works perfectly for me , but I recently did a fresh install of AC, which I would not recommend as I lost several years of track downloads :'(.

If anyone with errors can post up py_log.txt, that may have an error from an app.

Here:

Here:
it looks like you're using some kind of dodgy app called TyrePressureEngineer :o
It looks like an error trying to find a setting for a mod car: "No option 'rss_formula_79.soft (s).mintf' in section: 'IdealPressure'"
-
But that car ran just fine.
The Cobra 289 won't run anywhere though, with or without apps turned on. :(

Yeah, that error shouldn't impact anything - it just means that mod is a car that TyrePressureEngineer doesn't know about.
-
For what it's worth - the Cobra 289 is working for me, offline. I tried a couple of tracks, no crashes. I didn't have the car at all - it was a fresh download (I deleted it a long time ago).
-
Verified my game files, needed to redownload 10, but still the 289 crashes the game. >:(
It's got me buggered. ???

If it is only the 289, it must be that mod that is the problem, recheck that there is no other mod with similar name that could be causing problem, must be really giving you shits by now >:(.

Ditto
-
What do yo use to decompress the archive?
-
7-zip
-
Clutching at straws.
Delete 'User Folder\Documents\Assetto Corsa\setups\shelby_cobra_289'
Delete 'User Folder\Documents\Assetto Corsa\cfg\cars\shelby_cobra_289'
Just Search your entire Assetto Corsa folders, one under steam and one under documents for 'shelby_cobra_289' and delete any folders you find.
-
I just deleted everything Cobra (except the KS car).
That's in the AC main folder, My Documents and any zip's I had.
Re-downloaded, extracted, and it still crashes. :'(
-
You could try a system restore it fixed the AC crash I was getting a couple of weeks ago.
-
don't worry I wont use the car if its not working for everyone
-
Started over from scratch, new version available using the same link.
Anyone willing to test pls delete any previous version and redownload the current version.

Works for me :).
-
seems ok to me, lets see if works for Bacchulum
-
I'll let you know around 1700..... :-X
-
As a last resort you could backup AC game files, using Steam "backup and restore games" click on steam icon to find, backup to same drive AC is on and restore is very quick, uninstall AC, reinstall AC about 13gb (if you have enough download limit and speed is ok) install 289 mod to check it works, then restore AC game files and hopefully 289 mod, still works. I went through this routine on my spare PC to verify it works and it does, and I was back to where I was with all mods restored.
NB. Deleted cars and tracks still show up when you restart AC so you have to select standard content.
-
Still the same. :-X
-
bump
-
DLC pack has been released, 600mb will need to be downloaded before starting AC.
-
ok will update server soon
-
is there at paid content with this patch.
would we like to try the new track instead ?

It is all free and the only track included is Laguna Seca, which I know Rob dislikes and not really suited to the Cobra anyway imho.
-
I might change to it later on if anyone is around, cobra might be fun there
-
Cobra down the corkscrew sounds fun to me ;D
-
Server is back up

I just did some laps in the Cobra around Laguna , could be fun :).
-
Cool, if enough show up and are keen to try it I will give it a go,
sorta not excepting anyone, but see what happens
You don't have to be a Thursday regular to show up, its a xgn fun run in memory of Bruce with only short 5 lap racesx2, second reverse grid :)
-
It was a good rollup last night with up to 10 drivers in a race. I think it was a good time for peeps to work on the setups for the upcoming season and testing the new version of Laguna Seca was also very nice. I am looking forward to the start of next season, being brought to us by "Flattop Racing".
-
So disappointed that I couldn't make it, I wanted to be there to show my appreciation to Bruce. But my internet connection continues to give me conniptions.
Oh well, hopefully will be there for the season proper.

I guessed you were still having internet problems Rob , I am sure it all be ok before we start the season proper. There were a few comments last night about how hard the Cobra was to drive in the first series, gladly with the right setup it is now far more manageable ;D.
-
I also wanted to be there but the little dude had a late nap and was raging around at that time so was no chance he'd let me race. I haven't downloaded the new content yet but I will later and give it a try.
The Cobra is quite hard to drive, but that's what makes it so good with a sense of achievement at being able to have good racing in it. Phil's setups do help though for sure!

I would certainly be a better driver after a season in the Cobra! Started out with Bacchulum's setup for last night but had to do major adjustments to help with the loose rear end and poor trail braking ability. Still do not know what line to take through the cork screw, wide entry or narrow entry?
