Assetto Corsa / You know you've been playing AC for too long when...« on: September 02, 2015, 05:23:53 PM »
You see that it's 11 degrees outside and your first thought is how you're going to get some heat in your tyres.

Assetto Corsa / Poll: Disable collisions or take warp damage?« on: August 28, 2015, 03:50:04 PM »
Just out of curiosity (this is not actually possible), which would you prefer?
Disabling collisions would take away from realism, but a warp wouldn't wreck your race. 950

Australian Assetto Corsa League, Tuesday nights / NEW PLP 1.3 TO DOWNLOAD« on: August 24, 2015, 09:05:10 PM »
There's a new version 1.3 to download from here: http://www.xgn.com.au/index.php?topic=758.msg12369#msg12369
This version uses the tyre dirt level as well to make the "wheels out" detection more accurate. This is what RSR Rank does. It's an improvement, but it's still not perfect, but it correlates pretty well with the RSR app. Even in RSR, you can drive completely off the track (e.g. off the left at T1 at Silverstone, staying on the tarmac), and be regarded as on track. This is because you're on a valid track surface, and because it's asphalt, it doesn't make your tyres dirty either. A limitation of the game. But it's better - it detects off-track excursions that it didn't before. Copse at Silverstone is still a bit touch and go, because only that narrow green strip is off-track and dirty. The tarmac beyond that is clean and valid again. So you can still get lucky there and not get a cut, if you hit it just right. But sometimes it's a cut. Thanks Marty for the tip to check out the RSR app. 952
Australian Assetto Corsa League, Tuesday nights / Season 8 News Feed« on: August 22, 2015, 06:31:26 AM »
SATURDAY - Rookie driver JoshR, who fared poorly in the opening round at Imola where he scored only 5 points after receiving a penalty for careless driving, has apparently walked away from the competition. Driver JamieP, who has had 8 races with XGN and had signed up for the season, has also not raced. Neither driver was returning calls, so XGN have assumed that their positions on the grid are up for grabs.
With the imminent departure of drivers Marty and Gratulin for other commitments, two more places will become available for the remainder of the season. Gratulin is embarking on a European tour, trying to make an entry into the European GT3 championship. With the availability of grid places opening up, XGN will be advertising for replacement drivers in the wider racing community. Invitations are also being sent out to the current season racers to partner with Guybrush in team Achilles Heels, to replace departing driver Marty. 953
Australian Assetto Corsa League, Tuesday nights / S8R3: Silverstone pre-race chat« on: August 18, 2015, 11:21:14 PM »
This is one of the single race rounds (24 laps). With the fuel rates of the two cars being quite different, I've had to make it a 1 stop race, with a 2.4x fuel and tyre multiplier. There's no multiplier that will make both cars have the same number of stops over a longer race.

RACE RESULTS AND CHARTS
SEASON STANDINGS SEASON STATS Penalties Penalties are given for careless accidents in turns 1 and 2 of each race. Race 1: Joe(-2) for running into the rear of Bafs17. It looked like Bafs17 may have been braking a little early to avoid a mishap ahead of him, so Joe only lost 2 points instead of 4. Bafs17 wasn't disadvantaged by the accident, so gets no bonus points. Race 2: Marty (-8) for running into the rear of Jeremy (+8). It could almost have been a racing incident except Marty was behind Jeremy and the move was too ambitious for the opening corners of the opening lap. Round Points Matthew111 73 Jeremy 68 Simone 64 Grat 61 Rolz 61 Marty 53 Gratulin 52 StanDaam 51 Bacchulum 46 Skaife 43 Bafs17 40 Wally 36 Grubbet 34 Phil.8 34 Rob 33 Phil 31 Freezer 27 Chap111 25 Joe 23 Imperious 6 Congratulations to Matthew111on the clean sweep: the round win, as well as both race wins. Australian Assetto Corsa League, Tuesday nights / Teamspeak etiquette« on: August 12, 2015, 04:50:23 PM »
As alluded to by Marty in the Imola thread, we need to keep TS chit chat to a minimum during qualifying and race. Be mindful that even though you've finished your race, there might still be other people battling it out for position further back in the pack, and a sudden outburst of TS chat can be distracting. Let people finish their races.
