Yep you guessed it... only a couple of rounds left in the inaugral Cobra Cup Season one and it is never too early to start planing.
Dick and suggested "Blackwood" and this has been promised as round one, season 2.
So post away, having in mind that as we have become accustomed to the Cobra, the second season will be Fun with a short few lapper and a second race of probable double race 1. This will still give us an early finish, low pressure fun series...

Guybrush's suggetions:
I'd recommend the Golf track.
The best mod tracks IMO are:
Gentrack
Golf
Castle Hill
Blackwood
Nordschleife

Is it worth trying a different car next season Lemmy?
Perhaps the Corvette... or the Robin? ;)
Anyway, up to you.
-
What about some of the tracks we don't run so much on Tuesdays like Vallelunga? Perhaps a few too many tight corners. Magione is probably a bit tight too.

You are obsessed with Vallelunga Wally!

Magione is actually quite good in the Cobras

Just want to give the track some lovin' that it's been missing out on.

I support the Vallelunga idea wholeheartedly, it's a great track, shame it's not getting any use.

I'm starting to like it. I'ts not one of my favorites. i still get lost on it.. any more than 4 corners is a mission.
I like Migione a lot though. it only has a few corners.

Im trying to keep to the cobra cup theme they are the odd one out with AC
Maintain low learning
Jump in jump out predictably
Just track changes
Have another particular theme that we are well known for.
Although I am addicted to this era :)
I hope it is more, easy fun.

yeah i'm cool with doing another Cobra season.. You could just think of it as a very long Cobra season?
Guybrush is a Robin Reliant enthusiast. It's in his blood. He can't help himself.

Guybrush will be upset. the robin is just outside that era..
The Robin was first manufactured in October 1973

Tsukuba? :)

Im sure everyone would be happy if Guybrush gets a Robin and everyone else stays in the Cobra for a race or 2.

The Robin is a field-leader; an example of cutting edge technology extolling all the virtues of a pure racing machine. The question is: can you handle it?...

cutting the road with a front edge as it falls over! :P

That's the way racing was meant to be.
Seriously, can we try just one night with the Robin? Ahh-hem, for the elite that is.

wouldn't mind racing one of the actual AC tracks, the mod tracks can be a bit hit and miss ... though castle hill is the highest qual ive seen so far and drives bloody well, golf looks great too
two tracks I haven't seen mentioned and are decent (but haven't tried the cobra on) ... Donington and Brno
id also jump at the chance to do a race in the robin as I missed the first run and still crackup at the video that was posted.
but hell ... id race a lawnmower around a barn :o

And they're both pretty good tracks - not sure about the conversion quality.

sounds like a plan Guybrush for and inbetween season even 'funnier' fun run, pick a track.
-
I vote for a genuine Kunos track now and then just too take any 'custom track issue' out of the equation. Eg, the crazy super-wet-oil&soap-soaked grass.
-
I'm not going to say the V word. But how about Magione? We've never raced there.

Magione it is then.
We will be having a couple of 'off weeks' and at least one night with short races running through a few possibly "oil soaked grassy tracks"
probably in the Corvette.
Watkins Glen
Mid-Ohio Sports
Newbury
Brno
Crystal Palace
oh and ONE SHORT race in the Reliant :)
-
Tsukuba? :)
Nice work Grubbet, will check it out.
-
So why not Vallelunga? It's a tad less twisty than Magione...I'd say a bit more entertaining, too.

Lake Louise, Nordschleife and a run up the transfagarasan wouod make for an interesting season. Just need the Isle of man circuit and Targa Floria to come for a proper season in the robbins. ;D

We had a few of us during the day run a bunch of tracks on my server today. Of the ones we ran id say Brands Hatch could easily be used for a league race.
Also one to keep any eye out for but not working in MP yet is the istanbul scratch made pre alfa. That track surface and textures just about put official tracks to shame. Amazing work by the guy and once this gets updated a bit will be one of the best tracks in AC I think and could become a regular league track.
We also tried Monaco (converted) ok but seems a little off, still ok to race seems a heavilly edited gp4 or ISI f1 track. Done well for the base but a scratch made track is in the works and I think looks much more promising but also needs lots of works still.
Tried a Barcelona track ok a little bumpy in corners though quite subtle but runs quite well and looks fairly good.
Tried Laguna Seca 2.2 just ok I think not great.
Also tried an Albert park conversion, was ok kerbs seem a bit off but not bad obvious codies conversion.
Still the only of those id say should definatly be considered for league use is brands hatch. The others id rather run any official track before using them.

Would have joined in Marty. started to download B Hatch. Said time remaining 3.5 hours...
Always seem to be long downloads when I want tracks. Doesn't seem to matter where the file is hosted.

Unless your internet connection is crappola, it does matter where it's hosted. Many file-downloading places throttle the d/l speed.
You can sometimes circumvent it by using a download manager eg DownThemAll for firefox. (you need one that can download on multiple threads, and it doesn't always work; some places prohibit multi-threaded downloads, or have other measures in place that makes it impossible to use.)

On the day we were just sharing links on TS and it was only taking everyone a minute or so to get a track. Its a bit strange as many links were from racedepartment which sometimes has been slow for me but they were all pretty quick the other day for everyone.

it's prob my shitty iinet package or something. It tends to take a long time to DL anything really.
Took an hour to DL the latest shitty Nvidia driver Which made me drop frames even when my computer is switched off. Rolled that sucker back quick smart.
