Hey Bruce, I haven't tried all the Aosta Configurations yet, there's about a billion of them!

But the one that I think most suited to the under-powered Caterham is the config we have raced on the most - Aosta Sport. Did a few laps and I think it should be fun. About as close to racing a Formula Ford (weight and power wise) as we are going to get for a while.

Lets try the first race in the dry and see how everybody feels about a wet race after that?

Thanks Bruce, crash occurs if skin pack is not loaded. I had also just installed ptracker and did
not know what was causing the crash. I am learning to drive with one leg so I will see you on thursday.
I think one leg maybe quicker than two. ;D

Hi Bruce, current track on server is the ' Grand Sport'  not 'Sport' I think the 'Sport' version is easier to learn.
I also think this mod is great with grip levels and handling close to the real car.

Thanks Denis, I have now set it to "sport_intermediate" , the closest I could find, without the chicane.
Good to see you must be on the mend.

Just had a look at the lap stats (http://52.64.45.49:8080/lapstat?) for the upcoming Thursday nights Caterham run at Aosta and I'm really liking it!

Remember this is going to be BIG! (I hope so, the car is so much fun to drive)

"every dog has it's day"  ;D  I'm sure this may changes.

The instance had been restarted, I have kicked it off again.
and on that note, I had meant to say to you, what if your instance is bounced?  I will keep my old race server up to date with yours, just in case.

My instance has been up and running ok for quite a few months now so it shouldn't 'bounce'. However, you and Phil should login and copy the stracker database file as a precaution.

There will have to be a season of these, that is a certainty, and use them on the next bye night on Thursday too.

Hi Bruce/Andrew

Looks like I will have to miss tonight's race, bumma! I am getting a "runtime error" trying to join the server. I have done heaps of off-line practice with no probs but had the error trying to join the XGN server. So I tried an off-line race against the AI and immediately had the error with any more than about 6 cars, so it looks as though its not a server problem but my crappy computer.

A bit disappointed as I love this car and have done heaps of praccy and according to RSR I have quite a respectable time.

Have fun tonight and I will look forward to reading the race reports.

cheers guys
rob

Did you check the error logs? You might have a corrupt skin. Any skin that does not have a preview image will crash AC. There is one skin in the Cobra that is a problem - platinum_gold from memory. I realise you are not running the Cobra but the problem may still exist in other skin definitions.

Thanks for the tips Andrew.

I haven't checked the error logs. Don't even know where to look. Lol. I will have to find them and then post in the AC forums. I will delete all but the default skin and see how I go.

Thanks again mate

Rob, Guybrush experienced problems connecting, re-installed the skins all okay now.

Thanks Bruce, Denis and Guy.

Tried deleting the skins and running an off-line race with 10 AI and got the error.

I didn't think of deleting all 3rd party Apps, I will try that tomorrow.

Thanks guys.

I found a problem with the car mod.  There were a couple of times tonight where there was a bit of rubbing which didn't quite feel right - as though the collision box was bigger than the car itself.

I was running just behind Gratulin and there was an unexpected tap between the rear of Gratulin's car and the front of mine.  I saved the replay and have taken a screenshot of the exact moment we touched, which shows that we are well clear of each other:

Yeah. Thought it was another warp problem so just 'rage quit'. A real pity because this car and track combo was fantastic. A real hoot to drive. So many blind crests and white knuckle bumpy corners. I'm batting about 3 races out of 10 where I get past the first lap.

What a pity Rob, your Caterham suggestion was sublime! YOU will need to get this fixed, as there will be more of these little loverlies!
Don't delete the 3rd party apps -- just disable all, and then progress through re-enabling them one by one.

Pleased on two counts, one Gratulin, you had a reason to leave, in retrospect I had thought as admin on the night, I had missed an incident deserving attention/restart.
2. The "off" from a tap with Imp, was probably due to the 'collision box hypothis", I will post some question on the mod site.

Started using the stick shift and with a bad shoulder, taking time, I GAINED time and put some good laps in early, until concentration diminished.  Certainly loved the "white knuckle" crest turns, very satisfying getting the correct.  Although the added tension of fellow races certainly placed a strain on some turns.
Pleased to see skipper_nz took the time to race through the events.

Blasted sTracker would not start pre races, no matter what I tried... immediately after the races, instant start! It would have been nice to have seen the stats.
