Choose a car from the following fairly evenly matched list:
Ferrari 458 Italia
Ferrari F40
KTM X-Bow R
BMW M3 E30 DTM
Mercedes-Benz 190E EVO II (DLC content)
Alfa Romeo 155 V6 (DLC content)
- You'll be able to keep the same car for the whole season, with a chance to optionally change to another car one time only, half way through the season.
- Slower cars will get slightly more points, depending on average lap times for each type of car in each race.
- Car selection and swap by PM to me only, so people don't know who's going to be in which car (to allow for strategy games).
- If I don't get a car choice from you, you will be given the Ferrari 458 Italia.

Race 2: Mar 31, Silverstone International, 3 x 13 laps (final qual 5 mins)

Start Times
All times are EASTERN time.
Practice: 7:30pm, 60 mins
Qualifying 1: 8:30pm, 15 mins
Race 1: 8:45pm, 15 mins (approx)

Server Settings
- Damage: 60%
- Tyre wear: 100%
- Fuel multiplier: 100%
Points
- Individual driver points are 24,2,22, etc. down.
- Team points are the accumulation of the individual team member's points. If a reserve stands in for an absent team member, they score points for the team.
- Each driver's worst round is dropped, and the worst team round is also dropped.
- Fastest lap bonus: 1 points awarded at the end of each race for the driver who sets the fastest lap time.
Penalties
- If a driver hits someone carelessly in turns 1 or 2 at the start of a race and it pushes them off the track or spins them, they get a 4 point penalty, and the driver hit will get a 4 point bonus. You still have to redress any gained positions.
- If a driver gets two turn 1 or 2 penalties in a season, they will have to skip the first qualifying session of the next round and start the race from the back of the grid.
- No other penalties will apply. The usual respect for other drivers and redressing unfairly gained positions will be expected as always.
Rules
- Track Limits. The Pit Lane Penalty app is mandatory. Any drive through penalties issued must be taken within 3 laps. - Redress. If you gain position advantage over another driver by colliding with them such that their car leaves the track, or by cutting the track yourself, you are expected to redress your position as soon as safely possible. Gaining position by "reasonable" side-by-side contact is allowed, but rear collisions must be avoided. This won't be enforced. It is an honour system.
- Track Re-entry. You must always re-enter the track with extreme caution. Any collision on re-entry must be redressed.
- Assists. Driving assists like ABS and TC can be used only if available on the car. There is no forced driving view.
- Map and Mirrors. To assist in knowing where other cars are around you and on track (especially for leaving pits and re-entering the track after a spin), it is recommended to use the virtual mirror (F11) and turn on the track map which shows the nearby cars.
- Tyres. There are no restrictions on tyre choice.

TeamSpeak is encouraged. The server is ts.xgn.com.au.
Driver Sign Up
Reply in this thread to sign up for the season. Numbers are limited to 24 (limited by pit boxes). Extra drivers go on the reserve list, to be called up into a race if a position becomes available.
If a driver doesn't show up on race night without notification, they get a * on the entry list. If they get two *'s, they will be demoted to the reserve list, so someone else can get a race.

Been off for 3 years just got new PC and assetto corsa 2 days ago loving it...been playing on your server and would love to get back into league racing again...can I join u...not sure if I'll be any good rusty as hell but done a 47 dead on ur test track in Xbox thing ktm...can u let me know if space and what I do as still not upto speed on corsa log on private servers etc...well if u will have me that is ;)

Yes, I do. You can find your GUID in My documents/assetto corsa/cfg/race.ini, once you've joined any online server to have the game record your GUID. It's a long number starting with a 7.

Yep, off to Melbourne with my wife for a couple of days for work.
We had a poll about mod tracks a while back, and the consensus was to use mostly AC tracks for better quality and to avoid issues like holes and timing problems. But occasionally a mod track sneaks in. I would rather see more top quality tracks being made by Kunos rather than more cars at the moment.

I may be in trouble for this season. :(
I think one of my graphics cards is failing.
I keep losing my outer 2 monitors, a jiggle of the card fixes it but only temporarily.
I don't think I can drive with only 1 monitor any more (too spoiled :P)
Worst thing is I thought my CPU/MB combo needed upgrading first, now it's a whole system. :(

I think I'll scrap the bonus points idea. It's too hard to get it right. When I average the RSR world records across the tracks in the season, there's 0.4 seconds from fastest to slowest, so overall, the cars are as good as the same in theory.

I don't mind paying around $10 for it, but won't pay $20 or more.

Barbagello should be much better. Must say I was surprised and disappointed with Pukekohe. It's such a fun track even the bumps! We didn't have these problems last time. Hope it isn't an indication of problems with mod tracks in the new release.

I think the Alfa clearly out races the merc, even if lap times arent so far apart but the few times I tried both the Alfa is about 1 second quicker and much easier to drive. Funny how the m3 dtm is the slower of these 3 in my tests too yet we have its slower cousin in. I think the ruf and mclaren mp4 are also very close to the f40 and 458 but would still be a little slower then the dtm cars. Also the lotus 2 eleven has always been very close to the ktm and only the group A would be 4 seconds slower then quickest cars at nurburgring. If all those cars were available there would be maybe 2 seconds between them but the slower lap time cars would have a nice straight line advantage to mix things up a bit.
Id really be surprised if anyone chose the grp a car, I will choose one thats a bit of a challenge so unlikely to win the season but even though the grp a is the most fun to drive of this group its just not got much hope with quicker guys in any other car so id be unlikely to pick it and doubt anyone else will.

When I raced the Alfa at Spa it was clearly outpacing the merc. I slowed on purpose to let perch by to see how they compared. Perch and I are normally pretty close in most cars and the advantage out of the slower corners and off the line is why If I was to pick a car to give the best chance of winning the season that would be it. If these 3 dtm cars raced in the same season I think the only races the alf's wpuldnt have won would be if they didnt finish.
Of the tracks maybe Mugello wont suit it but everywhere else it would be the quickest around those tracks time wise. The 458 off the line will be quick and so if it gets ahead of any dtm cars they will need to work hard to get back past even if a second or 2 a lap quicker. Ktm is a funny one kind of in the middle of these similar times better cornering but not very quick down straights.
Pukekohe was a pretty awkward track with so many cars flying off the road the race results I dont think mean too much. In the DTM cars getting speed out of them the Alfa is the easiest and just needs some setup work to deal with turn in a bit better. Next is the Merc and if the BMW dtm was there its the trickiest to drive by far and would still be unlikely to get someone to choose it over those 2.
I will likely pick some old manual supercar would love a ruf but may need to go with the f40 ;) Ruf is normaly a little slower around a lap then an f40 but less then a second just so much more fun to drive.
Looking at the 1993 dtm season when these 3 cars competed the Alfa dominated, with the merc its only so so challenger and the m3 was nowhere near them and this is similar to how I noticed these cars potential in AC.

It seems that the m3 dtm has been slowed down with the 1.1 update likely to match the results of this season. The e30 was racing in 1988 already and was doing well then but by 1993 with the 4wd Alfa it was the way to go. Just like the Aussie touring car series in that era the nissan gtr was dominating thanks to its 4wd system and its also the main reason 4wd isnt allowed in gt3 racing and so the nissan is only rwd. It would be unbeatable if it was allowed to be 4wd in that class unless given a severe power handicap.

Here is a preview of the racing we may expect from a race I had the other day on the practice server was quite fun even though I was in the car that can get the quickest lap around the track I couldn't quite get the win. Video has a couple graphics card corruptions as I clocked it a little high in the recording ;D
The merc vs the 458 is still quite a challenge and at some of the tracks with even longer straights it will be even more of a challenge.

Still its not like the other season where driving an Evora GTC vs a 599 there was no hope here its possible to pass just not easy especially if the guy ahead is a solid driver hitting his marks. Also here the guy in the red 458 was with a 250 ping so shows a solid higher ping is fine to race with its only any ping that climbs a little that still causes the bad warping.

No, this season is 3x sprints to regather the field. Plus the 3rd sprint has a short qually (only time for abut 3 or 4 hot laps) to further mix the grid a little.

There's been a fix released for the walls at Pukekohe. I'll test the track by bashing into the walls sideways, backways and frontways, and if it looks good, I'll put Pukekohe back in place of Barbagallo in the final round, as I prefer the Pukekohe layout (especially the sweeping esses onto the finish straight and turn 1).

I think Barbagallo is much better track, the walls werent an issue for me though many others did launch of them at pukekohe, the track surface and kerbs are pretty poor I think. To me there isnt much to that track that is really even close to ac official content standards. Barbagallo and Baskerville are 2 much better tracks plus there are quite a few much better mod tracks that could be used.

I love Gratulin's thread which lists all the latest versions of tracks, maybe we could add a section for Australian and Kiwi tracks when we get more of them :P

Stan, it was your problem report that did it! The video pinpointed the problem in the nicest possible way :)
There are almost enough tracks for an ANZ track season. Surfer's is the main disappointment at the moment since it is a pretty good track (not the real life layout but the conversion job) except for the flat curbs. And obviously there is no suitable Bathurst yet.

Barbagallo might be a nicer looking track, but I like the Pukekohe track layout much better. Its inclusion is subject to a green tick in testing the new version.

Hello Mr. Forrest! I'll put you in as a reserve. Do you have the 1.1 DLC content? We're using some cars from it for the season.
Daylight savings ends April 5.

I'll grab the dlc for sure. Doesn't look like I'll be ready rid Tuesday. I'm pretty busy and i know I've got a drama ahead trying to get my g27 working.
Hopefully it won't take long.

I'm all good to go. except for the DLC lol. Which I won't be getting till Thursday. I've blown the budget sky high with this new bmw and, typically, the fridge just died as well so that screwed me big time. I'm in damage control this month.

computers are like are like women, need to keep the dust off them and constantly upgrade..... or something like that..
I've done everything bar graphics card upgrade. but I'm still getting good frame rates GeForce 256.
Think i'll just leave my G27 stock.. Might update my gloves.

OK, welcome back in that case :)
Your GUID is a long number starting with 7 in your Assetto Corsa race.ini. It identifies you on the grid.
Make sure you read this: http://www.xgn.com.au/index.php?topic=307.0
In particular make sure you install the Pit Lane Penalty app. If you want to join in season 6, you also need to choose one of the available cars: http://www.xgn.com.au/index.php?topic=822.0
